Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan

The Federal Emergency Management has approved the 2025 Kittitas County Hazard Mitigation Plan pending adoption by each planning partner. The Plan is comprised of Volume 1, which includes the countywide planning elements, and Volume 2, the individual chapters for the 15 planning partners.

Interested parties can continue to provide feedback on the Hazard Mitigation Plan. These comments will be considered when the Hazard Mitigation Plan is updated again. Please use the following form to submit comments: Kittitas County Hazard Mitigation Plan

Guiding Principle

Through partnerships, reduce the vulnerability to natural hazards in order to protect the health, safety, welfare and economy of the communities within Kittitas County.

Goals

  1. Protect life, property and the environment
  2. Continuously build and support local capacity to enable the public to mitigate, prepare for, respond to and recover from the impact of hazards and disasters
  3. Establish a hazard and disaster resilient economy
  4. Promote public awareness, engage public participation and enhance partnerships through education and outreach
  5. Encourage the development and implementation of long-term, cost-effective mitigation projects
