Kittitas County, WA - 06/04/2021 - As residential development increases in Kittitas County, safety and emergency access becomes more prevalent in dictating County road design and development standards reflected in the County Code. Since 2004, The County has required private roads to be certified by a licensed civil engineer in the State of Washington ensuring adequate fire/life/safety access. Assisting those considering purchasing land in Kittitas County, Public Works is providing a listing of currently certified private roads on its public website.Property owners should be aware of responsibilities associated with Kittitas County Public Works’ engineering and road standards regarding access, driveways, and private roads and bridges which can be found in the Kittitas County Code Title 12: Roads and Bridges https://www.co.kittitas.wa.us/boc/countycode/title12.aspx.
