Kittitas (pronounced 'KITT-i-tass') County is located in central Washington State. It spans from the lush forested Cascade Mountains to the upper Yakima River Valley plains and the Columbia River.
Kittitas County, WA - 10/15/2015 - In response to numerous tax payer requests, Brett Wachsmith, Kittitas County Treasurer, is pleased to announce that the Treasurer’s Office is now accepting credit and debit cards for tax payments made in person at the Treasurer’s Office.
Credit/Debit card payments may be made in person, by phone (888-877-3565) or online (http://taxsifter.co.kittitas.wa.us). When paying via credit/debit card in person, a 2.49% convenience fee will be charged. When paying via credit/debit online, a 2.5% convenience fee will be charged. Check, Cash or Money Order payments may be made in person or sent via mail. Sending cash through the mail is not recommend and all payments by mail must be postmarked by the tax due date. Additionally, the Treasurer’s Office would like to remind tax payers about the approaching deadline for paying real estate, irrigation and personal property taxes. Since the vast majority of payments are received through the U.S. Postal Service, we offer this reminder to avoid late payment delivery: mail early. Be aware of your mail pickup and delivery service schedule, as the U.S. Postal Service postmark is the key factor when determining if payments were mailed by their due date. Mail postmarked later than the due date shall be considered delinquent. This year, because October 31st falls on a Saturday, tax payments postmarked through November 2nd will be accepted as on-time payments. Payments postmarked November 3rd or later will be considered delinquent. Please visit us online at www.co.kittitas.wa.us/treasurer.
