Kittitas (pronounced 'KITT-i-tass') County is located in central Washington State. It spans from the lush forested Cascade Mountains to the upper Yakima River Valley plains and the Columbia River.
Kittitas County, WA - 04/16/2014 - As measles cases increase in the state, one local exposure in Kittitas County has been identified in this outbreak. The exposure occurred during a flight from Seattle to San Juan Island. Fortunately, the local person who was exposed was found to be immune to measles.
Other local exposures may occur. It is too soon to know if the outbreak has been contained. Susceptible Kittitas County residents who may have recently travelled, or plan to travel, to affected areas should be vigilant for symptoms of measles. At the first sign of fever or illness, stay home and call your doctor. Do not go to school, child care, work, public places, or social events.
