Kittitas County, WA - 08/31/2026 - The Kittitas County Board of Commissioners appointed Jeff Leichleiter to fill the vacant Kittitas County Commissioner District #1 position during a special meeting on Monday, August 31, 2026.
Leichleiter was selected from the candidates recommended by the Kittitas County Republican Party to fill the vacancy created by the departure of former District #1 Commissioner.Cory Wright.
Leichleiter will be sworn into office on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. in Kittitas County Superior Court. The public is welcome to attend the swearing-in ceremony.
Leichleiter will serve on the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners and represent residents of Commissioner District #1.
