New Lower County Transfer Station Ribbon Cutting Event & Opening Day Schedule

Kittitas County, WA - 07/01/2026 - To celebrate the completion of the New Lower County Transfer Station, Kittitas County Solid Waste Programs cordially invites the community to join us for a special ribbon-cutting ceremony at 2603 W Green Ave in Ellensburg on Friday, July 10th from 2-3pm.

THE NEW TRANSFER STATION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING ANY WASTE ON THIS DAY.  The public is invited to walk the new site and get a feel for the new set up and how traffic will flow. 
The last day to drop off waste at the 1001 Industrial Way location is Saturday, July 11th, 2026.  Both sites will be closed Monday, July 13th.  The new site will be open for business on Tuesday, July 14th, 2026.
