Kittitas County, WA - 06/29/2026 - The 2026 Notices of Value included, for the first time, an assessment for residential solar panels in Kittitas County.
The new assessment was based upon market data indicating that homes with solar panels contribute a measurable increase to market value. Following the mailing of the notices, we received valuable feedback from taxpayers and local businesses that garnered additional local market information. This new data has allowed us to refine our valuation model to better reflect local installation costs, depreciation, and advances in solar technology. As a result, corrected Notices of Value are being issued to all property owners with residential solar panels. Information about how to appeal your corrected value is included on the back of the notice. We are committed to fair and accurate property assessments and appreciate the community feedback that helped us improve the accuracy of our valuation model.
