Kittitas County Invites Volunteers to Serve on Boards, Committees, and Commissions

Kittitas County, WA - 08/14/2026 - Are you ready to make a difference in your Community? Kittitas County is seeking residents interested in volunteering their time, experience, and perspective by serving on one of the County’s many Boards, Committees, and Commissions. A variety of opportunities are currently available, with additional positions opening as terms expire at the end of 2026.

Serving on a County Board, Committee, or Commission is a meaningful way to get involved in local government and have a voice in decisions that shape our community. Whether your interests include public health, land use, veterans’ affairs, environmental stewardship, community planning, or other areas of public service, there is an opportunity to get involved.

Kittitas County encourages residents from across the community to consider applying and sharing their knowledge, ideas, and perspective to help shape the future of our County.

Available Opportunities

Kittitas County is seeking community members to serve on a variety of Boards, Committees, and Commissions. These groups provide an important connection between County government and the residents it serves.

Serving on a County Board, Committee, or Commission is an opportunity to contribute your knowledge, experience, and perspective to issues that affect our community. Volunteers provide valuable insight to County departments and elected officials while helping ensure that community perspectives are considered in local decisions.

These positions also offer residents an opportunity to learn more about how County government works, connect with others who are committed to the community, and play a direct role in shaping the future of Kittitas County.

Kittitas County values diverse perspectives and encourages residents with a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and interests to consider getting involved. Whether you are passionate about a particular issue or simply want to give back to your community, your voice can make a difference.

Additional Information

Not every appointment will begin immediately. Some positions will become available when the current member's term expires, typically in December of each year, but not always.

Certain positions have specific eligibility requirements, including residency within a particular Commissioner District or representation of a specific agency, organization, or interest.

Current members whose terms are coming to an end will be notified by the Commissioners’ Office. Members who wish to continue serving should respond to that notice and notify the office in writing of their interest in reappointment.
