Public Health Provides Free Vaccines at Back-to-School Clinics

Kittitas County, WA - 08/19/2025 - The Kittitas County Public Health Department (KCPHD) will be providing free back to school vaccinations for children and teens ages 4 through 18 years old. Two vaccine clinics will be available for local school district students:

Serving students in the Ellensburg School District at:
• Ellensburg High School (1203 E Capital Ave, Ellensburg)
Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 10am to 2pm

Serving students in the Cle Elum – Roslyn School District at:
• Walter Strom Middle School (2694 WA-93, Cle Elum)
Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 5pm to 7pm

These clinics are free and available to all children in the district regardless of health insurance status. No sign-up is required, just show up! Parents or guardians must be present for children to receive vaccinations.
 
The following vaccines will be offered (while supplies last):

• Tdap and DTaP
• Hepatitis A and B
• MMR (Measles, mumps, rubella)
• Varicella (Chickenpox)
• Polio (IPV)
• Pneumococcal (PCV)
• Meningococcal (MCV4)
• HPV

 
Required vaccines for school entry include Hepatitis B, DTaP, Hib, MMR, PCV, Polio, and Varicella. Others, like meningococcal and HPV, are strongly recommended to help prevent serious illness. KCPHD encourages families to make sure their children are up to date on vaccinations to keep students healthy and learning in school.
 
If your child attends a different school district and needs back-to-school vaccinations, please contact us at the health department for our vaccine clinic date and time or contact your healthcare provider for any additional vaccines needed.
