Kittitas County, WA - 09/24/2021 - Kittitas County medical providers are receiving questions about when a patient can receive a COVID-19 booster. Please watch for future press releases or social media information regarding booster doses since those are not yet available.
“We are anticipating the approval of booster doses, but do not have that approval yet,” states Kittitas County Public Health Department Director Tristen Lamb. The Western States Scientific Safety Review Workgroup is scheduled to meet September 23-24 to deliberate and consider Pfizer booster recommendations from the FDA and CDC. They will present their recommendations to the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) for recommendations to our local medical providers. Director Lamb states, “response partners have already begun planning to ensure efficient and coordinated efforts.” The CDC recommends everyone 12 years and older get vaccinated to protect against COVID-19:
