Kittitas (pronounced 'KITT-i-tass') County is located in central Washington State. It spans from the lush forested Cascade Mountains to the upper Yakima River Valley plains and the Columbia River.
Kittitas County, WA - 07/31/2019 - 27 year old Myra Stemmerman of Everett was brought out on horseback by the Sheriff's Search & Rescue Team after a fall on the trail.
On Tuesday, July 30th at around 2:00 P.M. Kittitas County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a rescue on the Tuck Lake Trail, located about 4.5 miles north of Forest Service Road 4330 and about 25 miles north of Ronald. The trail is steep and rugged. 27 year old Everett resident Myra Stemmerman was hiking with a friend when she fell while going down the trail. Myra sustained non-life threatening injuries but was unable to get out on her own. Kittitas County Search and Rescue volunteers responded to assist. The injuries were stabilized at the scene and she was transported back to the trailhead via horseback. She was transported by private vehicle to the hospital.
