Kittitas County, WA - 05/09/2019 - The public is invited to help celebrate Kittitas County’s agricultural community on Tuesday, May 21 during the Cattleman of the Year Field Day, an annual event that includes a free meal and program honoring a local ranch family.
This year's event features Ryan and Carly Stingley. The field day will be held at their ranch at 6491 Parke Creek Road. From the Vantage Highway, go south on Parke Creek Road and follow the signs. Beef sandwiches and everyone's favorite side dishes, including homemade pie, will be offered after 5:00pm followed by a short program highlighting the history of Ryan and Carly's operation. The event is supported by the Kittitas County Cattlemen’s Association and the county CattleWomen, nonprofit organizations working to promote the beef cattle industry and the families it supports. WSU Extension and and CAHNRS Communications recently produced a short documentary film highlighting the Stingley Ranch -- to learn more about local rangeland-based livestock production, check it out at http://csanr.wsu.edu/case-studies/.
