Kittitas County, WA - 08/21/2018 - Kittitas County continues to experience air quality issues as a result of wildfire smoke and is under an air quality alert until Thursday, August 23. The latest reading from the Washington State Department of Ecology’s (Ecology) monitor in Ellensburg is “unhealthy” air.
There are currently issues with monitors in Ellensburg. Agencies are aware of the issues and are working to bring monitors back online. However, in the interim, all other Ecology monitors surround Ellensburg are showing “unhealthy” air levels. Please continue to use extra caution and respond to the current air quality level as “unhealthy.” The air quality alert is in effect until Thursday, August 23, with no expectation of air quality improving until Friday in Eastern Washington.
