Current Election Information - February 13, 2018 Special Election


Tuesday, February 13th, 2018 –Special Election:

Notice is hereby given that the following dates, deadlines and meetings apply to the upcoming Special Election, to be held Tuesday, February 13, 2018:

January 15, 2018 -Last day to register online or through the mail: Voter registration files will be closed against original and transfer of voter registrations- 29 days prior to the Special Election.  To register to vote, visit  or appear in person at 205 W. 5th Ave, Suite 105, Ellensburg.

February 5, 2018 – Last day to register- In-person registration for qualified electors (new registrants within the state) must register to vote IN PERSON at the office of the Kittitas County Auditor up to 8 days prior to the Special election.

Registration assistance and voting aides are available for the elderly, disabled, or anyone that requests additional assistance.

ADA compliant voting equipment is available for use in the Auditor’s Office- Kittitas County Courthouse, Room 105, beginning Friday, January 26, 2018, continuing weekdays through Monday, February 12th from 9am to 4:30pm, and on Election Day, from 9am to 8pm. 

All eligible voters will be mailed a ballot at least 18 days prior to the election. Those not receiving a ballot may call the Elections Department at 962-7503, or stop in the office, to verify eligibility and request a ballot. 

Ballots, Replacement Ballots, Provisional Ballots, and voting supplies will be available:

                        Auditor’s office, Monday - Friday 9am-5pm

Election Day-    9am to 8pm at the Auditor’s Office (205 W. 5th Ave, Suite 105- Ellensburg)

Public meetings will be held the following dates & times, in Room 103 (Election Control Center): 

January 11, 2018-                     11:00am                L & A Test

February 22, 2018-                    2:00pm                  Canvassing Board- review signature/balloting issues  

February 23, 2018 -                   2:00pm                  Certify Election                   

The following will appear on the Special Election ballot:

School Districts Maintenance & Operation Levy – Damman, Easton, Ellensburg, Kittitas, Thorp

School Districts Technology Levy – Kittitas, Thorp

24-hour access:            205 W 5th Ave, Ellensburg- County Courthouse main parking lot

1007 N. Chestnut St, Ellensburg- Central Washington University Campus (east entrance of Student Union & Recreation Center)

700 E. 1st Street, Upper Kittitas County Courthouse

Regular Business hours:            County Courthouse- hallway adjacent to Auditor’s Office

               All Ballot Drop Boxes are locked at 8:00 pm Election Night
