Kittitas (pronounced 'KITT-i-tass') County is located in central Washington State. It spans from the lush forested Cascade Mountains to the upper Yakima River Valley plains and the Columbia River.
The Public Lands Advisory Committee was formed per Resolution 2013-134.
It states that outdoor recreation is a key industry to the economic well-being of Kittitas County and with public lands constituting nearly 71% of the total lands area of Kittitas County. Those lands are integral to the industry of outdoor recreation and the public’s ability to access and recreate on those lands is of paramount importance. The Board of County Commissioners desires to work cooperatively with major public lands managers to ensure appropriate access, management of wildlife and natural resources on public lands is consistently available.
On February 4, 2014, members of the PLAC were formally appointed after the Committee was formed by Resolution 2013-134. Resolution 2015-086 created “term” limits for the members.
