The Board of County Commissioners hired The FCS Group, a private consulting firm, to evaluate costs of services provided
by Community Development Services and a fee study associated with those costs. The FCS Group specializes in public finance
and municipal fees. An in-depth analysis of Land Use Permits and Building Permits was conducted to determine if permit fees
adequately recovered costs or charged more than necessary. As a result of the analysis, CDS presented a fee
for service schedule and proposed the BOCC adopt the fee model. A public hearing was held November 3rd and the BOCC approved
the fee changes and asked the CDS department to write the ordinance.
