Kittitas (pronounced 'KITT-i-tass') County is located in central Washington State. It spans from the lush forested Cascade Mountains to the upper Yakima River Valley plains and the Columbia River.
The Property Division of the Kittitas County Sheriff's Office is open from 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
The release of property is done by scheduling an appointment with our Law Enforcement Clerk at 509-962-7080.
When property is available for the owner and the owner is not known, the owner cannot be found, or the owner fails to claim or wishes not to claim their property and all possible efforts to locate the owner have been exhausted, the property is then considered unclaimed.
Unclaimed property will be disposed of according to Washington State Law under RCW 63.21 (Return to finder), RCW 63.32 (Agency or other public use) (destroyed), RCW 9.41 (Agency or other public use).
Property that is deemed unlawful to possess by certain persons will be disposed of according to Washington State Law under RCW 63.32 (Agency or other public use) (destroyed) or RCW 9.41 (Agency or other public use).
You must call and make an appointment to pick up property and/or evidence.
