Kittitas County, WA - 10/27/2014 - On Saturday October 25th, members of the Sheriff’s Office along with RSVP coordinated another successful Drug Take Back and document Shred event at the Sheriff’s Office. The event is hosted by RSVP, the Washington State Office of Insurance Commissioner SHIBA Program, Kittitas County Sheriff and the Kittitas County Community Network & Coalition.
Citizen Patrol Volunteers Bob and Pat Allen along with Reserve Deputy Bertschi and Law Enforcement Clerk Jackie Peebles (pictured) were very busy along with RSVP volunteers taking in 5,600 pounds of paper documents (over 2 tons!) that were shredded on site. Destroying unneeded personal documents reduces the chances of identity theft. There were 82.2 lbs. of prescription medications dropped off that will be destroyed, keeping them out of the wrong hands or improperly disposed of.
