Kittitas (pronounced 'KITT-i-tass') County is located in central Washington State. It spans from the lush forested Cascade Mountains to the upper Yakima River Valley plains and the Columbia River.
The Office of the County Fire Marshal employs fire investigators who provide technical fire investigation services to assist local fire districts with investigations involving injury or death, high dollar loss, or arson. The county fire investigators work closely with the Kittitas County Sheriff's Office, local police departments, the Federal Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Washington State Fire Marshal's Office to solve criminal activity and prosecute arsonists.
