PRESS RELEASE Press Release: Kittitas County Lifts Burn Ban Contact: Josh Hink, Kittitas County Fire Marshal Office: 509-962-7000 ELLENSBURG, Wash.— Josh Hink, Kittitas County Fire Marshal, today announced that Kittitas County will lift the burn ban effective September 23, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. The burn ban was originally implemented based on the following criteria; low moisture content of 1,000 hour fuels, weather conditions and patterns, topography and fuel types within the affected areas. It has become apparent that with the fuel moisture content currently seen in our region and the projected weather patterns, that a burn ban is no longer necessary. The Department of Natural Resources burn ban is effective through September 30, 2016. Any questions regarding burning regulations within the unincorporated areas of Kittitas County may be directed to Josh Hink at the County Fire Marshal’s Office.
