Kittitas (pronounced 'KITT-i-tass') County is located in central Washington State. It spans from the lush forested Cascade Mountains to the upper Yakima River Valley plains and the Columbia River.
Kittitas County, WA - 05/22/2015 - On May 21, 2015, Kittitas County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a theft of an aircompressor complaint that occured at the Texaco Station in Vantage, WA. The suspect vehicle fled the seen in a white Chevrolet pickup. The suspect was later arrested in Grant Count near George, WA.
The Kittitas County Deputy located the supect vehicle approx. one mile south of I-90 on Huntzinger Road. The suspect was in the process of vehicle prowling an unoccupied passenger car when spotted by the Deputy. The suspect fled in the white Chevrolet pickup truck north on Huntzinger Road at a high rate of speed. The Deputy was able to catch up to the vehicle and was able to have dispatch check the registration of the truck using the license plate number. The vehicle had been stolen from Sunnyside, WA earlier that day. The white Chevrolet drove through Vantage and then looped around and got onto I-90 heading eastbound across the Vantage Bridge. The fleeing vehicle exited I-90 at the George exit. The Washington State Patrol aircraft was dispatched out of Wenatchee to assist in the pursuit of the vehicle. The WSP airplane was able to locate the Chevrolet pickup and help guide the Grant County Sheriff's Office Deputies to the exact location. The vehicle fled from Grant County deputies and ended up wrecking off of a ditch bank, the suspect ran from the vehicle. The WSP airplane was able to circle the area and guide the deputies to the location of the suspect. The suspect surrendered without further incident. The suspect was identified as 22 year old, Micah D. Hubbard of Spokane Valley. Hubbard was booked into the Kittitas County Corrections Center on charges of Possession of a stolen vehicle, attempting to elude, possession of methamphetamine, vehicle prowl 2nd degree, theft 3rd degree and malicious mischief. Hubbard is currently held on $10,000 bail and has a no bail Department of Corrections hold. Special thank you to the Washington State Patrol and the Grant County Sheriff's Office in assisting in the apprehension of Mr. Hubbard.
