Kittitas (pronounced 'KITT-i-tass') County is located in central Washington State. It spans from the lush forested Cascade Mountains to the upper Yakima River Valley plains and the Columbia River.
Kittitas County, WA - 04/06/2015 - Two Seattle area hiker located by Kittitas County Search & Rescue last night.
On Sunday, April 5th, 2015 at around 6:21 PM, Kittitas County Sheriff’s Deputies and Kittitas County Search & Rescue Volunteers responded to assist 40 year old Noah Kriegsman and 23 year old Alexandria Korobkin, both from Seattle, in a remote wilderness area off the Pacific Crest Trail, approximately 4 miles southeast of Windy Pass, in the Snoqualmie Pass area. The subjects were day hiking and got lost after going off trail. They were able to get cell reception to call for assistance. They did not have food or supplies to stay overnight in the cold temperatures, and they lost battery power on their cell phones. The subjects were located at around 1:30 AM, and walked back out with Search and Rescue crews. They were not injured and were in good spirits.
