Kittitas County, WA - 04/22/2014 - The Saturday RSVP and Law Enforcement coordinated Document Shred Event and Drug Take Back at CWU was a huge success generating over 191 pounds of prescription drugs for disposal and 6,400 pounds of personal documents that were dropped off and shredded to help prevent identity theft.
Properly disposing of old or unneeded medications is important so that they do not get into the wrong hands or improperly discarded into a landfill or flushed. Four boxes were filled with various prescriptions totaling 191 pounds. The Cle Elum Police also teamed up and coordinated a drug drop off in Cle Elum the same day. Along with the document shredding, Kittitas County Detective Jerry Shuart was on hand to answer questions about how to prevent fraud and indentity theft. Assisting at the event were members of RSVP, Citizen's Patrol and Solid Waste.
