County Holding Joint Meeting with Cle Elum City Council

Kittitas County, WA - 1/24/2023 - The Kittitas County Board of Commissioners and City of Cle Elum Mayor and City Council will hold an historic first joint meeting on Monday, January 30th, at 5:30 PM at the Putnam Centennial Center in Cle Elum.

The meeting is to be moderated by former Cle Elum Mayor / Kittitas County Commissioner Gary Berndt and will cover a range of topics around future growth, emergency management, and public facilities in the Upper County. Cle Elum Mayor Jay McGowan stated, “I am looking forward to this meeting to set the stage for future communications, collaboration, and planning with the county to preserve our quality of life”. Kittitas County Commissioners have previously held two joint meetings with the City of Ellensburg since 2020 which have resulted in successful efforts to tackle joint issues, and are scheduled to hold another in February of 2023. Commissioner Laura Osiadacz commented, “We look forward to holding more formal conversations around how the county and cities can work together especially as we continue to see increased growth in our Region”.
Kittitas County Commissioners plan to hold joint meetings with all Kittitas County incorporated cities over the course of this year and hope to make them into regularly scheduled sessions in the future.
