Do you want to impact mental health in Kittitas County? Do you want to help shape programs and services around mental health and substance use disorder? Kittitas County is looking for volunteers to apply for the newly created 1/10th of 1% Mental Health and Chemical Dependency Advisory Committee.
Applicants must be 18 and reside in Kittitas County. Applications are available via the Kittitas County website at https://www.co.kittitas.wa.us/boc/boards/default.aspx. Paper applications can also be picked up at the Board of County Commissioners Office at 205 W 5th, Room 108, Ellensburg Washington. You can also request an application via email at BOCC@co.kittitas.wa.us.
As a member of the committee, you will work together to provide recommendations to the county regarding the delivery of mental health and substance use disorder programs and services using funds collected from the sales tax from 1/10th of 1% in our county.
On December 7, 2021, the Board of County Commissioners voted 2 to 1 to pass the 1/10th of 1% increase in sales and use tax for the purpose of supporting mental health and substance use disorder. The press release and public hearing is available on the county website.
