Kittitas County, WA -
This week, the Kittitas County Sheriff's Office was recognized for adopting policies that reflect national best practices in Law Enforcement and public safety, and for consistently training personnel in those policies.
Last year, Kittitas County Sheriff’s Deputies and Detectives responded to or generated more than 15,000 calls for service, from parking violations to violent crimes, along with a wide range of emergencies including mental health crises, search-and-rescues, animal complaints and many other incident types. To provide consistent and professional responses across our many duties, our office relies on comprehensive, up-to-date policies.
This week, the Sheriff’s Office was recognized by the Lexipol Connect program for achieving Gold-level performance in 2021 by consistently and effectively disseminating policies to deputies, issuing timely updates to policies as laws change, and ensuring deputies are trained on those policies. Lexipol is the nation’s leading provider of policy frameworks and recommendations for first responders and public safety agencies; the Connect program tracks performance on five metrics proven to measure success in policy management.
Sheriff Clay Myers said, “Carefully considered, up-to-date policy—along with regular training on policy—is vital to our ability to protect and serve our community. We’re proud to be recognized for continuously improving the professionalism and safety of our office.”
