Kittitas (pronounced 'KITT-i-tass') County is located in central Washington State. It spans from the lush forested Cascade Mountains to the upper Yakima River Valley plains and the Columbia River.
Kittitas County, WA - 03/10/2022 - Kittitas County CDS is initiating out of docket cycle amendments to Title's 16, 15A and 12. The proposed amendments are intended to reconcile certain subdivision standards with Washington State regulations and address several outstanding deficiencies in Title 16. Additionally the proposed amendments include an update to the County road variance process requiring amendments to Titles 12 and Title 15A.
Kittitas County Community Development Services did on March 10, 2022 issue a Determination of Non-Significance (DNS) on proposed amendments to Kittitas County Code. Kittitas County is proposing amendments to Title 16 Subdivisions and to adopt regulations for an administrative process for road variances. The road variance amendment will require changes to Title 12 Roads and Bridges and Title 15A Project Permit Application Process. The specific changes to each title are outlined in the review materials. These changes are being proposed outside of the annual docket cycle. The lead agency for this proposal has determined it will not have a probable significant adverse impact on the environment. An environmental impact statement (EIS) is not required under RCW 43.21C.030(2)(c). This decision was made after review of a completed environmental checklist and other information on file with the lead agency. This information is available to the public on request, or can be reviewed at the Kittitas County Community Development Services website at: https://www.co.kittitas.wa.us/cds/comp-plan/default.aspx Written comments from the public regarding the threshold determination may be submitted to the Kittitas County Community Development Services no later than March 25, 2022, at 5pm, after which the lead agency will then : retain, modify, or withdraw the decision pursuant to 43.21C RCW (State Environmental Policy Act) and WAC 197-11-340(2). This may be the only opportunity to comment on the environmental impacts of this proposal pursuant to SEPA. A copy of this threshold determination will be available to the public upon request. Amendments being proposed may be viewed on the Kittitas County Website and at Community Development Services, 411 N Ruby Street in Ellensburg.
