Kittitas (pronounced 'KITT-i-tass') County is located in central Washington State. It spans from the lush forested Cascade Mountains to the upper Yakima River Valley plains and the Columbia River.
Kittitas County, WA - 09/30/2021 - The Kittitas County Public Health Department (KCPHD) is actively recruiting more Spanish speaking individuals to complete the Kittitas County COVID-19 Vaccine Community Survey. Our goal is to have approximately 10% of the results represent Spanish speaking individuals by the closing date of the survey on October 8, 2021.
For in person assistance completing the survey via paper or Internet format with local bilingual promotoras, please visit the Rotary Pavilion at 104 W 4th Ave in Ellensburg on October 1st from 5:00pm to7:30pm or October 2nd from 9am to1pm. The survey link is also available via www.co.kittitas.wa.us/health under Quicklinks on the landing page. The survey is available in English and Spanish, takes roughly five minutes to complete, and is anonymous. For additional assistance completing the survey, contact the Kittitas County Health Network at alicia@healthierkittitas.org to be put in touch with local bilingual promotoras. The community survey asks questions about behaviors, concerns, and beliefs surrounding COVID-19 vaccination. Survey responses help KCPHD better understand how residents think and feel. We then use that information to better serve our community. “It is important that survey work is done correctly,” states Health Promotion Supervisor Chelsey Loeffers. The survey was tested prior to distribution to the public and revised based on feedback. To ensure the results are valid, we require a certain number of surveys to be completed. According to US Census information, Kittitas County has over two thousand individuals who are native Spanish speakers. Spanish speaking individuals make up the largest population of non-native English speakers in Kittitas County, which is why outgoing emergency messaging and messaging around COVID-19 are consistently translated. After the closing date of October 8, 2021, KCPHD staff will compile the results and publish a report with survey findings.
