Kittitas County will be accepting applications for 2020 Lodging Tax Fund Grants for Special Events and Projects starting this Friday 9/04/2020. This call for applications is county-wide. The application will be posted online on the County’s website and can be easily accessed at the following link: https://www.co.kittitas.wa.us/auditor/accounting/lodging-tax/cltac-guide.aspx The application process is only available digitally and must be completed and submitted exclusively online.
Applying for lodging tax grants for tourism-related special projects and festivals is in its fourth year of the electronic process. To facilitate the process, there will be a virtual grant application training provided by the Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce. A live training will be held September 9th, 2020 at 9:30am via the Chamber’s Facebook page where the digital application will be presented with instructions and applicants will have the opportunity to review it and ask questions. General questions about the grant funding process will also be addressed. This recording will be saved and posted for others to view outside of this live time.
The Lodging Tax Grant Program for Special Events and Projects is a collaborative program between Kittitas County and each city in the county which collects lodging tax. Applicants only need to complete one application to be eligible for consideration. The County and the cities of Ellensburg, Cle Elum, and Roslyn will jointly review and award funding. Funds awarded through this process may be used for tourism marketing; the marketing and operations of special events and festivals designed to attract tourists; and supporting the operation of tourism-related facilities owned or operated by non-profit organizations.
"Kittitas County's Lodging Tax Advisory Committee anticipates receiving many grant requests for special events and tourism related activities from all areas of the county." said Commissioner Osiadacz. Commissioner Osiadacz chairs the County’s Lodging Tax Advisory Committee and presides over the joint meetings between the County and the Cities.
Completed grant applications are due no later than 5:00 PM, September 25, 2020. More information is available online on Kittitas County’s website.
