Kittitas (pronounced 'KITT-i-tass') County is located in central Washington
State. It spans from the lush forested Cascade Mountains to the upper Yakima River Valley plains and
the Columbia River.
Kittitas County, WA -
Kittitas County is currently on day 2 of Phase 2. Per the Governor’s Phased Washington State Plan, we are required to stay in Phase 2 for a minimum of three weeks. During this time, how our responders and community come together to move to Phase 3 will determine our success.
We currently have 83 positive cases of COVID. The patients are stable at this time. 42 of the 83 are considered recovered, which means we have 41 current cases of COVID. The majority of the confirmed cases at this time are related to the Twin City Foods outbreak.
Our goal is to get to Phase 3 by June 17, 2020 in a safe manner (June 16 would be 21 days in Phase 2). To do that, we need to use the most effective tools we have to continue moving forward. Follow Phase 2 restrictions. Wear cloth masks. Protect our at risk population (pregnant, over 65, immunocompromised).
For business and organizations wanting information as to whether they can open during Phase 2, please visit https://coronavirus.wa.gov/ and go to the link What You Need to Know and then What’s Open & Closed. Additional information about Washington’s Phased Plan can also be found on that website.
