Kittitas (pronounced 'KITT-i-tass') County is located in central Washington State. It spans from the lush forested Cascade Mountains to the upper Yakima River Valley plains and the Columbia River.
Kittitas County, WA - 03/13/2020 - A King County resident who was tested in Kittitas County has tested positive with COVID-19. That King County resident had close contact with a 20 year old Kittitas County resident. The Kittitas County resident had definitive exposure to a person with COVID-19 and is in voluntary self-quarantine.
“This is an incident where there is no question this individual had close contact with someone who has a positive test result for COVID-19”, states Heath Officer Dr. Mark Larson. “If the person develops symptoms during the fourteen day quarantine period, then we consider this individual as a positive for COVID-19.” The Kittitas County resident is currently in voluntary self-quarantine and will be for a period of fourteen days. During that time, the resident has orders to contact KCPPHD immediately if symptoms begin. At this time, KCPHD is urging Kittitas County residents to follow Governor Inslee’s recommendations. Events with 250 or more people are prohibited, which includes social, spiritual, and recreational gatherings. More recommendations include:
