Kittitas County, WA - 10/17/2019 - Fire Prevention Week 2019 Poster Contest Winners Announced
The Kittitas County Fire Marshal's Office in partnership with the local fire districts hosted a poster contest during Fire Prevention Week, October 6th-12th. Both Governor Jay Inslee and the Kitttias County Board of Commissioners issued proclamations recognizing Fire Prevention Week. All Kittitas County schools were invited to participate. Posters were reviewed by a panel of judges consisting of elected officials who met at the County Courthouse to perform the judging. The 1st place winners each received a ride to school in a fire truck this week. The names of the winning students will be memorialized on a plaque located at the Courthouse. The winning posters will also be on display for the public. The 2nd place winners each received a certificate and were recognized in their schools. Both winners will be having lunch with firefighters in the coming week.
