Kittitas (pronounced 'KITT-i-tass') County is located in central Washington State. It spans from the lush forested Cascade Mountains to the upper Yakima River Valley plains and the Columbia River.
Kittitas County, WA - 10/16/2019 - The Kittitas County Public Health Department (KCPHD) will be holding the annual drive-thru flu vaccination clinic on October 25, 2019 from 7 am to noon. The hours have changed, but the location is the same and flu vaccine is still free.
KCPHD has been conducting drive-thru flu vaccination clinics since 2003 as part of an emergency exercise for staff. Since then, additional locations have become available for county residents to receive their flu shot. As a result, KCPHD’s flu clinic has experienced a general decrease in participants over time. “The number of vaccines we provide fluctuates every year, from 683 in 2009, to 130 in 2015,” states Administrator Tristen Lamb. “Our data shows that morning is the busiest, so we have shortened the event this year to meet the needs of our community, while also using our resources responsibly.” Flu vaccination is the best way to prevent getting the flu and now you can protect yourself. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that everyone over the age of 6 months receive a flu shot every year. It is especially important for certain groups of people to be vaccinated every year including:
