Kittitas (pronounced 'KITT-i-tass') County is located in central Washington State. It spans from the lush forested Cascade Mountains to the upper Yakima River Valley plains and the Columbia River.
Kittitas County, WA - 09/12/2019 - The Kittitas County Sheriff's Office promotes 2 new sergeants, 2 new corporals and appoints a new commander.
On 09/11/19 in the Board of County Commissioners auditorium, Sheriff Gene Dana appointed five new positions. Commander Steve Panattoni will be supervising the Kittitas County Corrections Center. Commander Panattoni brings a wealth of knowledge and years of leadership experience to the office. Commander Panattoni started in law enforcement in 1983 and brings 36 years of knowledge to the commander position. Patrol Corporals Nate Foster and Zach Green have been promoted to Patrol Sergeants. Sergeant Foster has been with the Sheriff's Office for 14 years. Sergeant Green has served with the Sheriff's Office for 15 years. Patrol Deputies Jason Goeman and Dave Houseberg have been promoted to Patrol Corporals. Corporal Goeman has been serving for 14 years, and Corporal Houseberg has served for 11 years. Sergeant Foster, Sergeant Green, Corporal Goeman, and Corporal Houseberg all participated in an assessment center provided by an outside agency. The assessment center is a rigorous four- to five-hour testing process that puts the participants in supervisory scenarios and evaluates their skills. These four gentlemen all performed extremely well in the assessment center, and will go through a supervisor field training program to enhance their coaching and mentoring skills. First level supervisors are vital to the success of the Sheriff's Office and are on the front line 24/7 making important decisions.
