Kittitas County, WA - 12/28/2018 - On Thursday, December 27th at around 12:52 PM, Kittitas County Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched with personnel from Upper Kittitas County Hospital District 2 and Kittitas County Fire District 7 to rescue an injured Lake Tapps resident after he colliding with a tree in a remote area northwest of Red Bridge Road east of Cle Elum.
62 year old, Richard Hermanson was the single rider of his 2009 Polaris snowmobile while riding with family. He was not wearing a helmet. Rescue crews that responded utilizing various snow rescue vehicles assisted an Airlift Northwest helicopter land near the scene. The helicopter crew then assisted with extrication of the patient and transported him to Yakima Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. Mr. Hermanson was later airlift to Harborview late last night with serious internal injuries. Please remember ride safe and always wear a helmet.
