Kittitas County, WA - 03/13/2018 - Registration is now open for the Community Health Worker Training on April 11th, 2018 at Central Washington University, 400 E University Way in Ellensburg. The training is an eight week combination of online and in-person trainings. The training is free!
According to the Washington State Department of Health (DOH), Community Health Worker training is intended for anyone in the community who helps connect people to health and social services, peer counseling, health education, patient navigation, et cetera. There are no prerequisites for this training and all community members involved in community and public health are welcome to join. The curriculum is based on strengthening common skills and knowledge the Community Health Worker uses including roles and boundaries, communication skills, documentation skills, care coordination, and presentation development. This free course is part of the Healthy Communities Washington initiative to increase access to quality preventative health care services and other community resources.
