Kittitas County, WA - 10/09/2017 - The Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) has suspended the license for Pride and Joy Dairy. As a result, the Kittitas County Public Health Department (KCPHD) wants to remind retailers to remove all Pride & Joy Dairy organic retail raw milk from sale. Additionally, KCPHD wants consumers to be aware that all Pride & Joy Dairy organize retail raw milk should not be purchased or consumed.
According to the Washington State Department of Health (DOH), raw milk is milk that has not been pasteurized and could carry harmful bacteria. According to the WSDA, they are taking this action because results from the samples they collected match two cases from a January outbreak.
