The Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office has canceled evacuation notices for residents affected by the Teanaway River fire that started yesterday. Under State Mobilization authorization, the Southeast Washington Interagency Incident Management Team has taken over command of the fire, which is estimated at 250 acres.
Teanaway Road is now open to local traffic only. Residents are reminded to reduce speed and use caution when driving through the 8500-10000 block of Teanaway Road. Fire Crews are still working in the area and residents are asked leave gates open in the event fire personnel need to access areas behind private property.
