On September 10, 2018 the Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners voted to adopt Title 17.61C ending the solar moratorium and creating permitting and siting criteria for Solar Power Production Facilities in Kittitas County. The regulations and associated overlay map were officially adopted on October 2, 2018 via Ordinance 2018-018. The Board of County Commissioners instructed CDS staff to begin work on amending the regulations to include a Solar Overlay Zone 3. Over the next few months the proposed regulation update will follow the requirements outlined in KCC 15B with the goal of BCC adoption in May 2019.
Kittitas County has a total area of 2,333 square miles. The highest point in the county is Mount Daniel at 7,959 feet above sea level.
