Kittitas (pronounced 'kit-i-tass') County is located in central Washington
State. It spans from the lush forested Cascade Mountains to the upper Yakima River Valley plains and
the Columbia River.
Office of Coroner eliminated, became a function of the Prosecuting Attorney's office; Section 2, Chapter
148, Laws of 1925.
Office became appointive (by the county commission) at the completion of Bowman's term. Officials were
elected as surveyors through the 1906 election and as Engineers starting with the 1908 election.
Kittitas County has a total area of 2,333 square miles. The highest point in the county is Mount Daniel at 7,959 feet above sea level.
