Transfer Stations (Self Haul)

Transfer stations in Kittitas County accept garbage from commercial haulers and self-haulers (people who choose to haul their own garbage).

Ellensburg Transfer Station

Kittitas County Solid Waste Programs owns two transfer stations:

Cle Elum Transfer Station: 50 - #5 Mine Road, across from the Cle Elum/Roslyn School
Tuesday - Saturday
8:00 am - 1:00 pm, 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm
Ellensburg Transfer Station: 1001 Industrial Way
Monday - Saturday
8:00 am - 4:00 pm

Fee Schedule (Tipping Fee)

Tipping fee $ 86.84 per ton plus refuse tax

   - minimum 5.00 including refuse tax

Yard waste 35.92 per ton plus refuse tax

   - minimum 2.00 including refuse tax

Construction/demolition waste

Ellensburg Transfer Station   47.70 per ton plus refuse tax

   - minimum 3.00 including refuse tax

Cle Elum Transfer Station 57.85 per ton plus refuse tax

   - minimum 4.00 including refuse tax

Appliances with CFC Refrigerants 10.36 per appliance + weight

Tires

    Passenger with garbage 1.81 per tire

    Passenger without garbage 181.30 per ton

    Truck tires 5.18 per tire

    Implement/tractor 10.36 per tire

     Heavy equipment 51.80 per tire

Sale of compost 60.00 per ton

Recyclables may be dropped off for free at the approach to each transfer station.
