Administration | Distressed Counties Sales & Use Tax FundingAlong with promoting economic development and job creation, these funds are for the purpose of financing public facilities which are defined as bridges, roads, domestic and industrial water facilities, sanitary sewer facilities, earth stabilization, storm sewer facilities, railroad, electricity, natural gas, buildings, structures, telecommunications infrastructure, transportation infrastructure or commercial infrastructure and port facilities in the state of Washington. On April 14, 1998, the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners signed Resolution 1998-045 accepting the sales & use tax revenues, and also creating a public facilities fund effective July 1, 1998. On April 18, 2000, Resolution 2000-049 was signed that directed the Conference of Governments (COG) to select qualified applicants for the distribution of the Distressed County Sales & Use Tax with the guidance of the Board of County Commissioners. The Distressed County Sales and Use Tax Infrastructure Improvement Program application for these funds can downloaded or obtained from the Kittitas County Public Works Department at (509) 962-7523. Applications for 2012 Funding will be due to the Public Works Department by June 30, 2011, at 5:00 pm. Funding will not be available until January 1, 2012. Distressed County Sales and Use Tax
