Burn Ban in Effect

Kittitas County, WA - 07/12/2017 - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Update to include Fire District #8

An extreme fire hazard currently exists in Kittitas County due to high temperatures, lowering relative humidity and low fuel moisture content of 10, 100 and 1,000 hr. fuels. 
 
As of Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 12:00 pm, a burn ban is in effect in all unincorporated areas of Kittitas County.
 
All burning, including recreational fires and briquette barbeques are prohibited in all Fire Districts, with the following exceptions:
 

  • Fire District 8 and Snoqualmie Pass Fire and Rescue will allow small 2’ x 2’ recreational fires in approved pits with Fire Chief Approval.
  • Fire District 4 (Vantage) will allow small 2’x3’ campfires within the Riverstone Resort.
