Kittitas County, WA - 06/27/2017 - Search & Rescue Teams from Kittitas, Yakima and King County have combined to look for 20 year old Kaylean Johnson in the South-West portion of Kittitas County, near the Yakima and King County Lines.
Deputies are working with numerous agencies to locate 20 year old Kaylean Johnson, who has been missing since June 23rd, 2017 in the Little Naches national forest area north of Highway 410, east of Chinook Pass. Johnson was riding on a 1974 Harley Davidson motorcycle with 61 year old Yakima resident Patrick Frawley when they were involved in a collision over an embankment. Frawley walked out of the woods yesterday afternoon at around 3PM near the Woodshed Restaurant on HWY 410 and was transported to Yakima Memorial by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries, disoriented and dehydrated.
Mr, Frawley told Kitttias County Detectives that, after the wreck, he and Johnson walked until dark, built a fire and spent the first night on a small landing. The next day, due to his health and slow pace, Johnson headed down to find help. That was the last time he saw her. It took him two more days to work his way out. "As of this notice, we have located the motorcycle and a fire pit we believe to be the location the two spent the first night."
Kittitas County Underhseriff stated, "Our SAR Coordinators, Deputy Mike McKean and Deputy Dave Houseberg are pushing all of the resources they can into this search with approximately 20 ground, K-9, 4X4, and horse search teams from Kittitas, King, and Yakima County, helicopters from the King County Sheriff’s Office and the Yakima Training Center, and a rescue vehicle team from Kittitas County Fire District 7. The search will continue to ramp up overnight to include 30-40 K-9 and ground search teams and a helicopter from King County Sheriff’s Office with night vision. We will continue to expand the search and bring in outside agencies as we are very concerned with the length of time Ms. Johnson has been missing."
Kaylean is 4’11, 190lbs, last seen wearing a pink tank top, shorts, and a Harley Davidson jacket. Anyone with any information concerning her whereabouts is asked to contact the kittitas County Sheriff's Office at 509-925-8534
