Kittitas County, WA - 10/12/2016 - The Kittitas County Public Health Department (KCPHD) will be holding the annual drive-thru flu vaccination clinic on October 21, 2016. This year we will hold the drive-thru clinic at the Fairgrounds on 8th and Alder Street (1010 E 8th). Anyone can get a flu shot between 7:00 am and 3:00 pm. Children 18 and under are free. Free adult vaccine is limited and will be first come, first serve. After the free adult vaccine supply (110 doses) is gone, adults will be charged $30.00 (cash or check). In addition, we will be billing Medicare this year for eligible adults.
KCPHD has been conducting drive-thru flu vaccination clinics since 2003. The department uses the annual drive-thru flu clinic to practice for the possibility of a disease outbreak that would either require vaccinating or distributing medication to large numbers of people in Kittitas County. Getting vaccinated is the best way to prevent getting the flu and now you can protect yourself without even getting out of your car. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that everyone over the age of 6 months receive a flu shot every year. It is especially important for certain groups of people to be vaccinated every year including:
