Kittitas County, WA - 05/13/2015 - In accordance with the tradition of the American Public Works Association, those who work in professions that provide and maintain public facilities and services will be honored during National Public Works Week, May 17-23, 2015. The Kittitas County Commissioners have proclaimed the week as “Public Works Week.”
Public Works Week is designed to increase public awareness of the contributions of public works professionals who include the men and women who design, provide and maintain the infrastructure and services, including transportation, water & sewer, airports, refuse disposal systems, public buildings, parks and facilities that we all use every day. The theme for 2015 is “Community Begins Here.” Public works allows the world as we know it to exist. And, recognizing our Public Works employees for their service and commitment, and the risks they deal with every day, is an important part of Public Works Week.
