Kittitas County, WA - 07/11/2014 - On 07-10-14 at approximately 8:45 PM, Kittitas County Sheriffs Deputy’s along with Kittitas County Search and Rescue responded to the Pacific Crest Trail near Snoqualmie Pass for the report of a hiker that had suffered a medical problem and was no longer able to walk.
A 24 year old Seattle area man, Sanford Ang, had been hiking on the Pacific Crest Trail approximately 2.5 miles northwest of Snoqualmie Pass when he became dehydrated due to the heat. Ang became light headed and suffered severe body cramps making him unable to walk. Family members that were hiking with Ang were able to call 911. Rescuers reached Ang’s location at approximately 01:45 AM and transported him out to the trailhead with the assistance of a Wheel Litter. Ang was treated at the trailhead by Snoqualmie Pass Fire and was subsequently transported to Overlake Hospital for further treatment. .
