Second Body found in Death Investigation
Kittitas County, WA - 12/24/2012 - After removing the body from the back seat, a second victim was found in the trunk of the vehicle.
Around 9:15A.M. last Friday a passing motorist reported a vehicle off the roadway in the Yakima Canyon, near the Rosa Dam. Responding officers from the State Patrol secured the scene after finding the occupant, located in the back seat, appeared to have been shot.
The vehicle, a 1999 Nissan Altima, was brought to the Kittitas County Sheriff's Processing Room where Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit removed the body of 35 year old Ryan Pederson of Yakima. The victim had been shot.
Detectives then removed a second Yakima resident from the truck of the vehicle, identified as 37 year old Michael Eby, whom had also been shot.
The vehicle belongs to Michael Eby's father, who reported his son had borrowed the car Thursday.
Detectives from Yakima and Kittitas County are working together on the investigation.
