- Notice of Citizen Advisory Committee meetings for Regional Shoreline Master Program update and County Critical Areas Ordinance update. 03/11/2013
- Kittitas County and the Cities of Ellensburg, Cle Elum, and the Town of South Cle Elum are participating in a multi-year process to develop a regional Shoreline Master Program (SMP). In conjunction with the regional SMP update, Kittitas County has initiated an update to its Critical Areas Ordinance (CAO). One component of these update processes is formation of a Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) to help in establishing final recommendations on shoreline environment designations and goals, policies, and use regulations for the County and Cities/Town and final recommendations on County critical area goals and regulations.

- The County, Ellensburg, Cle Elum, and South Cle Elum are working together to conduct a regional Shoreline Master Program update. An initial draft shoreline master program has been prepared and is available for public comment.
- COUNTY CONTINUES GROWTH MANAGEMENT COMPLIANCE HEARING 01/07/2013
- In order to comply with state Growth Management Act requirements, the County is continuing the December 10, 2012 hearing to consider changes to its Comprehensive Plan and Development Regulations. The hearing is scheduled for January 16, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at the Kittitas County Courthouse before the Board of County Commissioners.

- The Kittitas County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing the proposed amendments to the Comprehensive Plan and implementing regulations on Tuesday, October 23, at the Fairgrounds Teanaway Hall in Ellensburg at 6 p.m.

- County Hosts Public Joint Meeting Event for GMA Compliance 10/05/2012
- ELLENSBURG, WA – On Tuesday, October 9, Kittitas County will host a Joint Planning Commission/Board of County Commissioners to review draft proposed changes to the County’s Comprehensive Plan and regulations in the effort to comply with the State’s Growth Management Act . The Joint meeting will be held following the regularly scheduled Planning Commission meeting at the following location:

- On September 18, 2012 the Kittitas Board of County Commissioners signed an ordinance to amend the Kittitas County Code permitting Administrative Segregations, formerly known as "Exempt Segregations."

Kittitas County and the Cities of Ellensburg, Cle Elum, and the Town of South Cle Elum are participating in a multi-year process to develop a Regional Shoreline Master Program, resulting in adoption of an independent Shoreline Master Program for each jurisdiction. In conjunction with the Regional Shoreline Master Program update process, Kittitas County has initiated an update to its Critical Areas Ordinance.

- Kittitas County and the Cities of Ellensburg, Cle Elum, and the Town of South Cle Elum are participating in a multi-year process to develop a regional Shoreline Master Program (SMP). In conjunction with the regional SMP update, Kittitas County has initiated an update to its Critical Areas Ordinance (CAO). One component of these update processes is formation of a Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) to help focus technical discussions and identify key technical and policy issues associated with the SMP and CAO updates.
- Seeking Volunteers for Citizen Advisory Committee 07/30/2012
- Kittitas County has initiated an update to its Critical Areas Ordinance as required by the Growth Management Act. One of the steps for the update processes was the formation of a Technical Advisory Committee to help focus technical discussions and identify key technical and policy issues associated with the Critical Areas Ordinance update processes. A Critical Area Ordinance Citizen Advisory Committee will now be established, to finalize recommendations on critical area policies and regulations.
- County Hosts Public Open House on 2012 Comprehensive Plan Amendments 07/30/2012
- The county is hosting a public open house featuring Kittitas County’s proposed 2012 Comprehensive Plan Annual Amendments.
Community Development staff will be on hand to discuss the 2012 Comprehensive Plan amendments. This is an opportunity to review the 2012 Docket and have your questions answered. The meeting will take place as follows:

- Update Regarding Comprehensive Plan Compliance 2012 Project 07/20/2012
- The County’s website has recently been updated with information and draft proposed GMA compliance materials that will be presented to the Board of County Commissioners and Planning Commission in a joint study session on July 24th, 2012. The agenda and materials to be reviewed at the study session are listed on the County website. Written comments are encouraged. No time for oral testimony will be scheduled for the study session. Opportunities for public comment and oral testimony will be provided at future public open house events and public hearings before the Board and Planning Commission later in the year.
