the workplace are encouraged to bring these issues to the attention of their
immediate supervisor or the Human Resource Director. Employees can raise
concerns and make reports without fear of reprisal. Anyone found to be
engaging in any type of unlawful discrimination will be subject to
disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Grievance
Individuals who believe Kittitas County has discriminated against them
because of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, marital status,
veteran status, or disability are encouraged to utilize the grievance
procedure provided by Kittitas County. No individual shall be penalized or
retaliated against in any way by the County for his or her participation in
this complaint procedure.
Individuals, who are not employed by Kittitas County, need to submit in
writing a formal complaint detailing the alleged discrimination to the Human
Resources Department.
All persons who seek the advice and assistance of the equity officer shall
have explained to them the grievance procedures provided by the County as
well as the existence of external complaint procedures available through
state and federal agencies.
